“Four engineering company officials have been booked as suspects as part of a police probe into the partial collapse of an overpass in western Seoul last week, the city's top police officer said Monday. A section of the Seosomun Overpass undergoing demolition collapsed last Tuesday during an on-site safety inspection, killing three people and injuring three others. Police have since launched a probe into the collapse. Park Jeong-bo, head of the Seoul Metropolitan Police Agency, said the four suspects, which include a site manager of the engineering company involved in the demolition, have been booked on suspicion of occupational negligence resulting in death. "(We) are analyzing documents secured through raids and an on-site inspection," Park told reporters in a briefing. "Necessary questioning will take place after analyzing the relevant documents." On Friday, police raided the offices of the Seoul city government and the engineering company as part of the investigation into the overpass collapse.
