“BALING, June 4 — A retail shop worker in Kampung Kuala Lesung, Kuala Ketil near here was injured in a robbery involving four men, one wielding a machete,on Monday. Baling district police chief Supt Brandon Anak Richard Joe said police received a report regarding the incident involving the man, who is in his 20s, at 9.02 pm on June 1. “Investigations found that at 8.45 pm on Monday, the man was approached by four male suspects travelling in a white Perodua Bezza. “All four suspects were wearing helmets, masks, jackets and gloves, and one of them was carrying a machete,” he said in a media statement today. He said the suspect armed with the machete swung the weapon at the victim, causing minor injuries to his back. “The victim suffered losses in cash due to the robbery and was taken to Hospital Baling for treatment. The case is being investigated under Sections 395/397 of the Penal Code for voluntarily causing hurt while committing robbery,” he said. He added that police are actively tracking down the suspects, and members of the public with any information are urged to contact the nearest police station to assist in the investigation. —
