Campus flags lowered in memory of Terry Gingerich
Facility Services is saddened to share news of the passing of Terry Gingerich, a valued team member and dedicated driver. He was a respected colleague who made a meaningful impact on those he worked with across the McMaster community. Gingerich joined McMaster University in February 2022 as a custodian, supporting campus operations. In 2023, he was promoted to driver within the Mailroom and Logistics team. Known for his reliability, positive attitude and willingness to support others, his contributions extended well beyond his role. He brought a sense of humour and laughter to the garage, built strong relationships across teams and embodied the values of Facility Services. Gingerich is survived by his wife, Chrystal Almas, a custodian in Housing & Conference Services, and his three children. During this incredibly difficult time, our thoughts are with Chrystal, their family and all who knew and cared for Gingerich. A celebration of life for Terry Gingerich will be taking place on June 13 at P.X. Dermody Funeral Home, 796 Upper Gage Ave., Hamilton. Click here for further details, including a tribute.
