European Commission Press release Brussels, 04 Jun 2026 Today, the European Commission decided to refer France to the Court of Justice of the European Union for failing to comply with the rules on the freedom of establishment and the free movement of services, as set out in the Treaty on the functioning of the European Union (TFEU) and the Services Directive (Directive 2006/123/EC), with regard to national rules governing veterinary companies and veterinarians.
