Fuziah reminds PKR MPs to abide by party decisions, uphold mandate
KUANTAN, May 22 — PKR MPs have been reminded to remain committed to the party’s mandate in carrying out their duties as elected representatives. PKR secretary-general Datuk Dr Fuziah Salleh said every elected representative must abide by party decisions and uphold the principles of the struggle entrusted to them. “They are not only serving their constituencies, but also representing the party and should uphold those principles, not promote other parties,” she told reporters after launching the Madani Mart branch at Jalan Dato’ Wong Ah Jang in the Teruntum state constituency here today. Fuziah, who is also Deputy Domestic Trade and Cost of Living Minister, was commenting on the participation of several MPs in programmes organised by leaders of other parties. She said several party leaders had been tasked with engaging and advising the MPs involved on their responsibilities in carrying the party’s mandate. “This is advice from the leadership to them. So far, we respect them as MPs… they are not only serving the people, but their role as party representatives is equally important. In Parliament, when it comes to voting and other matters, they must adhere to what has been decided by the party,” she said. — Bernama
