KUALA LUMPUR, May 16 — The Rukun Negara Youth Tour 2026 programme will implemented from this month to October, involving 15 selected higher learning institutions nationwide in an effort to strengthen unity, patriotism and self-confidence of Malaysian youth. National Unity Minister Datuk Aaron Ago Dagang said the programme was implemented through an interactive and experience-based approach to strengthen appreciation of the values of the Rukun Negara in daily life. “This effort also places emphasis on building values, integrity, and self-confidence among youth as the basis for strengthening unity and building a nation,” he said in a post on Facebook yesterday. Aaron also included an infographic on the programme organised by the Ministry of National Unity through the Department of National Unity and Integration, which targets the participation of youth, aged 18 to 30. Each series of programmes will last for two days and one night with content based on four main themes, namely ‘Kenapa dan Mengapa’, ‘Menjunjung Rukun Negara’, ‘Meraikan Kepelbagaian’ and ‘Pembinaan Nilai dan Jati Diri’. According to the infographic, the theme focuses on understanding nationalism and the importance of the Rukun Negara as the basis of national unity, as well as appreciating and practising the values of the Rukun Negara in daily life. It also emphasises appreciation for diversity as a strength in strengthening unity and the formation of values, integrity and identity based on the spirit of patriotism. — Bernama
