Iran says talks with US progressing through Pakistani mediation
Iran says talks with US progressing through Pakistani mediation Iran’s ambassador to the United Nations, Amir Saeid Iravani, said Tehran and Washington are continuing to exchange views through talks mediated by Pakistan and expressed hope that negotiations could reach a conclusion in the near future. Speaking to reporters after a UN Security Council meeting in New York, Iravani said Iran had not yet received a final document but was working toward that goal. Asked whether an agreement could be reached by the end of the month, he replied: “We hope so.” The ambassador also reiterated Iran’s position that the ceasefire applies across the region, including Lebanon, a view rejected by Israel.
