Israeli settlers injure elderly woman in West Bank village
Israeli settlers injure elderly woman in West Bank village Israeli settlers attacked Palestinian homes in the village of Al-Maniya, southeast of Bethlehem, on Friday, injuring an elderly woman, Wafa news agency reported, citing local officials. Ahmad Kawazba, head of the Al-Maniya village council said that settlers attacked homes belonging to the Sawarka family along the bypass road near the Al-Maniya roundabout south of the village. The attack left an elderly resident, with a fractured right arm. Medics transferred her to Beit Jala Governmental Hospital for treatment. Kawazba said the settlers also tried to attack homes belonging to the Jabarin family in the al-Qarn area, but residents confronted them and prevented them from approaching. Residents of Al-Maniya have reported an increase in settler attacks in recent months, including attempted vehicle-ramming attacks, arson targeting homes and cars, and harassment of shepherds to prevent them from accessing grazing land and property.
