According to a post on the Sultan Ibrahim Sultan Iskandar Facebook page, His Majesty also expressed his appreciation for the fighting spirit shown by the players and coaching staff, as well as the unwavering support of the loyal JDT fans who stand by the team through thick and thin. “The fans have always been a source of inspiration and strength for the team, igniting their fighting spirit and providing the motivation to continue charting success,” His Majesty said. Sultan Ibrahim also extended his congratulations to his son, Tunku Mahkota Ismail, the Regent of Johor, who is also the owner of JDT. JDT created history tonight by becoming the first team to win the Malaysia Cup for four consecutive seasons after defeating Kuching City FC 2-0 in the 2025/2026 Malaysia Cup final at the National Stadium in Bukit Jalil here.
