Korea to expand onion exports amid domestic oversupply

“Korea will push for the expansion of onion exports, mainly to the Southeast Asian market, amid domestic oversupply of the vegetable, the agriculture ministry said Wednesday. The Ministry of Agriculture, Food and Rural Affairs announced the plan as domestic supplies of onion are expected to increase by up to 5 percent from a year earlier in 2026 and up to 8.8 percent compared with the annual average.
