KUALA TERENGGANU, May 20 — An 18-year-old was killed while two others were injured in a horrific two-vehicle crash here yesterday, according to Sinar Harian. Front passenger of the van, Wah Han Keong, was pronounced dead at the scene after suffering severe injuries in the incident, which occurred at about 3.36pm. Kuala Terengganu police chief Assistant Commissioner Azli Mohd Noor said police received information on the crash at 4.12pm. The Malay daily reported that Initial investigations found the crash involved a Volkswagen Golf GTI driven by a 43-year-old man and a Nissan Vanette. “Investigations found the car was travelling from Kuala Terengganu town towards Muzium Losong. “Upon reaching the scene, the vehicle is believed to have lost control before skidding and crashing into a Public Works Department (JKR) pole,” he said in a statement yesterday. He said the impact caused the car to veer into the opposite lane before ploughing into the van travelling from Taman Manir towards Kuala Terengganu town. “The JKR pole that was hit also fell and pierced into the van, striking the front passenger. “The victim suffered severe injuries and was pronounced dead at the scene,” he was quoted as saying.
