Lebanese health sector faces growing crisis as casualties mount The Lebanese Ministry of Health said Israeli raids on the towns of Burj al-Shamali, Abba and Tibnin in southern Lebanon killed five people and wounded 48 others. The ministry said the latest casualties add to the growing human toll of the conflict. According to the ministry, since 2 March, at least 3,433 people have been killed and 10,395 others have been wounded in Lebanon. Officials also reported extensive damage to the healthcare system, saying 17 hospitals have been damaged and three forced to close. The ministry said 128 medical, nursing and ambulance personnel have been killed, more than 330 injured, and over 160 healthcare vehicles damaged, while warning of severe shortages of essential medical supplies and increasing pressure on hospitals and emergency centres.
