No Bersatu-Pakatan deal in sight, DAP sec-gen says amid coalition rumours
SEREMBAN, May 24 — DAP secretary-general Anthony Loke today dismissed speculation that Bersatu could join Pakatan Harapan amid talk of strains in its relationship with PAS. Rumours of possible friction within Perikatan Nasional (PN) have surfaced in recent days following speculation that PAS may reconsider its political ties with Bersatu. “I have neither heard anything nor been told about it. I do not wish to speculate on such talk as this may purely be due to rumours that PAS was planning to divorce Bersatu,” Loke was quoted by The Star as telling reporters here when asked. The Seremban MP said he is not interested in entertaining speculation over possible political realignments involving Bersatu. Loke also said DAP had cooperated with Bersatu during the previous PH administration but was left disappointed. He said DAP had even supported Bersatu’s candidate for the prime ministership before the collapse of the PH government in 2020 under Tun Dr Mahathir Mohamad. Loke added that he was not in favour of forming any new political cooperation with Bersatu.
