“JOHOR BAHRU, May 17 — Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim said the government plans to increase the Budi Madani RON95 (BUDI95) subsidised petrol quota limit for p-hailing delivery riders. The prime minister said the proposal is for the current 200-litre limit to be increased to 250 litres for riders. “The proposal will be brought up at the National Economic Action Council (NEAC) meeting this Tuesday. “Communications Minister Datuk Fahmi Fadzil will also be tasked with deliberating the proposal in an effort to increase an additional 50 litres from the original quota. “This step was taken after taking into consideration that the current limit of 200 litres per month for the riders needed to be reviewed,” said Anwar at a community event held at the Taman Desa Mutiara People’s Housing Project (PPR) hall here today. Taman Desa Mutiara comes under the Puteri Wangsa state constituency and is within the Tebrau parliamentary constituency. Anwar, who is also the finance minister, said he is hopeful Fahmi can assist in finding a way to increase the subsidised petrol quota by an additional 50 litres. He explained that the proposal was triggered by his own initiative after personally listening to complaints from food delivery riders regarding the existing quota. Meanwhile, Anwar said the government’s ability to channel infrastructure assistance and maintain the price of subsidised RON95 petrol at RM1.99 per litre was the result of national stability, good diplomatic relations, and close cooperation between the federal and state governments.
