In accordance with the procedures established by Senate , Provost and Vice-Principal (Academic) Matthew Evans will chair a committee to advise the Principal and Vice-Chancellor Patrick Deane on the future direction of Smith Engineering, and on the selection of the next dean. Future prospects of the faculty and advisory committee membership Members of the university community are invited to submit commentary on the present state and future prospects of the faculty. More information about Smith Engineering, including its strategic plan and the Reimagining Engineering Education initiative , is available on the faculty’s website . Expressions of interest to serve on the advisory committee should be submitted by May 22 via email to deanship@queensu.ca . Commentary and feedback can be submitted at any time to the same email address. All emails and their contents will be treated confidentially. Respondents are kindly asked to indicate whether they consent to having their letters shared with members of the advisory committee once it is formed.
