Trump cancels envoy visit to Pakistan, says Iran can ‘call us’ to negotiate
Trump cancels envoy visit to Pakistan, says Iran can ‘call us’ to negotiate US President Donald Trump told Fox News that he had cancelled Special Envoy Steve Witkoff and his son-in-law, Jared Kushner, from travelling to Pakistan for talks. The announcement comes after Iranian Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi left Islamabad with his delegation. Trump told the US News network that it was “not worth” his envoys travelling 18 hours to Pakistan for talks with Iran, adding that Tehran could simply call Washington if it wished to establish a deal. “I've told my people a little while ago they were getting ready to leave, and I said, 'Nope, you're not making an 18 hour flight to go there,” said Trump. “We have all the cards. They can call us anytime they want, but you're not going to be making any more 18 hour flights to sit around talking about nothing’.”
