“JEMPOL, June 1 — Two brothers were killed while another was injured after the car they were travelling in lost control, veered off the road and crashed into a tree at KM11 of Jalan Bahau-Kemayan here last night. Jempol police chief Supt Norhisham Mustapar said the accident, which occurred at about 8.40pm, involved a Volkswagen car driven by the eldest brother, aged 31, who was travelling with his two younger brothers, aged 27 and 25. He said preliminary investigations found that the vehicle was travelling from Kuala Pilah, Negeri Sembilan, to Temerloh, Pahang, when it is believed to have lost control before crashing into a tree and a road sign. “As a result of the accident, the driver, who worked as a safety officer at a private company, and his younger brother, a higher education institution student, sustained severe injuries and were pronounced dead at the scene. “The other brother, who was seated in the front passenger seat, sustained injuries and is currently receiving treatment at Jempol Hospital,” he said in a statement here today. The case is being investigated under Section 41(1) of the Road Transport Act 1987.
