Araghchi referred to what Israel described as a “secret” meeting with the UAE, which Abu Dhabi denied took place. “I must say that the UAE was directly involved in the act of aggression against my country. When this aggression began, they even refused to condemn it,” Araghchi added. In a statement carried on Iranian media, the foreign minister also claimed to have advised the UAE that Israel and the US “cannot guarantee their security”, saying: “we and the United Arab Emirates are neighbours” and must “understand security as mutual cooperation” between the two countries.
