UAE sends Trump's Board of Peace '$100m' for training of new Gaza police force The United Arab Emirates has disbursed $100m to the US-backed " Board of Peace " to finance the training of a Palestinian police unit destined for the Gaza Strip, The Times of Israel reported, citing diplomatic sources. The transfer marks the largest donation the Board of Peace has received, after nine members of the board initially pledged a total of $7bn, and the US invested a further $10bn during a donor conference in February. Recruits are slated to be trained in Egypt and Jordan, with an Emirati security firm tasked with building a force of some 27,000 officers, the US official and Middle Eastern diplomat said. An earlier report by the publication quoted an Arab diplomat saying that Palestinians who previously served as civil servants in Gaza would be allowed to apply to the new police force, but they will have to undergo vetting by Israel's internal security agency to be approved.
