And every week we do online video conferences (they live far away from us) where we read books together – Readeo is our favorite (see The Best Tools For Reading With Children From A Distance ). We’ve also used this one: “My Story Steps” Has Potential For Long-Distance Grandparents Like Me When they’re visiting, we mostly do reading and learning with hardcopy books and toys, but sometimes, for a change of pace, we do something online for very limited periods. On my desktop, we might go to PBS Kids or Turtle Diary . I have a couple of apps on my phone that we sometimes use: Khan Academy Kids I’ve just downloaded Poio , but haven’t tried it out with the kids yet. Let me know if you have other suggestions.
